7D/6N South Korea Travel Series - Seoul + Jeju Island
( Singapore to Incheon via Korean Air >> Doulos Hotel - Jongno 3-ga, Seoul >> Lotte World >> Dinner at Lotteria )
The much awaited vacation that was postponed for a year was finally happening. Although we know that we are late for spring, me and hubby still decided to go for it since baby Ish might start her school already in the coming months. We might not find a flexible time to travel after that.
Off we go to Seoul via Korean Air on the early morning of May 18. Seoul is 1 hour ahead of Singapore and the flight was 6 hours long. We arrived at Incheon Airport at around 8AM. We headed straight to the Bus Ticketing Counter to check the price of bus fare to our hotel. If I remember correctly, it is around 10,000KRW each. Since our hotel was one block away from the bus stop, we decided to take a cab instead. The price of the cab was 3X more of the bus but carrying 2 big bags, a stroller and a toddler, we opt for the cab.
After booking the cab, daddy K went to 7-11 located just outside the Arrival area at the airport to buy our T-money and loaded it with 10000KRW each. The ride from Incheon airport to Seoul was about 1.5 hours.
We arrived at Doulos hotel. It is quite small but decent. A business hotel that is surrounded by restaurants, shops and love hotels. It is walking distance to the MRT station and some of the attractions can be visited by foot.
We were early for the check-in time so we took some rest at the lobby. I am really so sleepy that I don't mind dozing off on the couch. We asked for an early check-in and we were charged 30,000KRW.
That day I have planned for 3 places to visit but because we are so tired and sleepy from the flight, we decided to just go to Lotte World.
Snooze time.
At about 3PM we left the hotel and head to the MRT station. Travelling by subway was as easy as travelling in MRT in Singapore. You just need a map and you should know in which station you are getting off. We used the color codes instead of numbers in identifying the lines. Just like in Singapore, purple, green and red are easier to use than NEL, EWL, Circle Line , etc..
We get off at Jamsil station (pink station ) Exit 4 and walk through a link to Lotte World. The theme park is directly connected to the station.
Tip: Always include the exit number when you prepare your Itinerary. It is easier to know which way you are going out.
We were very hungry when we reached at the main entrance of Lotte World so we decided to eat in the first food outlet that we can find. We saw this Food Capital which is a food court near the entrance. Daddy K ordered spicy noodles (sorry, i can't remember the name) and I ordered the pork cutlet with cheese. Pretty simple food. It's the first day and for a hungry tummy we have to choose the safest and easiest food we can find. Good thing that the dishes has an English translation. hehehe..

We were also able to catch the parade. Lotte World is celebrating Mask Festival that time.
Just outside the park is a Lotte Department Store. We look around but didn't buy anthing yet since we are scheduled to do our shopping on the 4th day.
We went back to the hotel after that and grab something to eat for take away/ take out from the nearby Lotteria. This is the local McDonalds of Korea. They have hamburgers, chicken, dessert and drinks. I love the Lotz burger. The burger patty didn't taste like I bought it from a fast food store. Juicy and simply so tasy for the price.

Lotte World has an indoor and outdoor area. Mostly the rides at the indoor area are for kids. Before this trip, I ask hubby to choose just one between Lotte World and Everland but he said he wants to bring the baby in both places. Ok fine. Seems a good idea because Lotte World is a kid's haven. If you are seeking for more thrill choose Everland Resort instead.

We stayed for sometime to watch the band performing on stage.
Admission Fee: Adult 46000 won , Child 36000 won, Infant 12000 won
Stroller Friendly: Yes (stroller rental is available)
Here's a tip: Go there after 4PM. The ticket price goes down to 37000 won for adults.
